A new cost allocation rule for inventory transportation systems

چکیده
In this paper we propose a context-specific cost allocation rule for inventory transportation systems. We consider the setting defined in Fiestras-Janeiro et al. (2012) [3] and propose a new cost allocation rule, the so-called AMEF value, which is inspired by the Shapley value. We prove that, under suitable conditions, the AMEF value provides core allocations. Besides, we provide a characterization of the AMEF value based on properties of balanced contributions, solidarity, and transfer. © 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Congested Double Path Approach for a Hub Location-allocation Problem with Service Level at Hubs
In this paper an uncapacitated multiple allocation p-hub median problem is discussed. The model minimizes the transportation cost based on inventory service level at hubs through double paths between hubs. Inventory service level is defined as the percent of inventory shortage of vehicles at hubs according to passengers demand and replenishment time of vehicles. A real data from 25 nodes of mun...
متن کاملThe Cost Function for a Two-warehouse and Three-Echelon Inventory System
In this paper, the cost function for a three-echelon inventory system with two warehouses is derived. Transportation times are constant and retailers face independent Poisson demand. Replenishments are one-for-one. The lead time of a retailer is determined not only by the constant transportation time but also by the random delay incurred due to the availability of stock at the warehouses. We co...
متن کاملModeling and Analyzing Incremental Quantity Discounts in Transportation Costs for a Joint Economic Lot Sizing Problem
Joint economic lot sizing (JELS) addresses integrated inventory models in a supply chain. Most of the studies in this field either do not consider the role of the transportation cost in their analysis or consider transportation cost as a fixed part of the ordering costs. In this article, a model is developed to analyze an incremental quantity discount in transportation cost. Appropriate equatio...
متن کاملA core-allocation family for generalized holding cost games
Inventory situations, introduced in Meca et al. (2004), study how a collective of firms can minimize its joint inventory cost by means of cooperation. Depending on the information revealed by the individual firms, they analyze two related cooperative TU games: inventory cost games and holding cost games, and focus on proportional division mechanisms to share the joint cost. It turns out that ho...
متن کاملDeriving the Exact Cost Function for a Two-Level Inventory System with Information Sharing
In this paper we consider a two-level inventory system with one warehouse and one retailer with information exchange. Transportation times are constant and retailer faces independent Poisson demand. The retailer applies continuous review (R,Q)-policy. The supplier starts with m initial batches (of size Q), and places an order to an outside source immediately after the retailer’s inventory posit...
